CURRENTLY IN CLASS:
We are currently reading Katherine Paterson's Lyddie, a historical fiction novel about a teenage girl striving for independence during the Industrial Revolution. We've been working with the history department to that students can see for themselves the parallels between the historical aspects of the IR and one character's experience working through it. If you're interested about learning a little more yourself, feel free to check out the video embedded in this class's home page!
6/8/11: We are anticipating finishing the novel by late this week/early next week and working on the final project beginning early next week. Vocabulary sentences are due by next Monday at the latest.
This week's vocab words: jostling, clamor, dervish, scrupulous, paragon, ruefully, cravat, turpitude
And just in case: Dictionary.com!
